What are your favourite things to buy, fresh and locally sourced, from fresh-range.com? Check out the list of the most popular local products on Bristol and Bath’s local online food store in 2015.  

Top fresh-range veg:

  1. Organic Courgettes
  2. Organic Washed Carrots

Both of the above are grown on Farrington’s Farm here in Bristol. All of their produce is certified as organic by the Soil Association, and the prices of their fresh produce are competitive with non-organic supermarket prices.       3. Mixed Leaves

Organically grown by community interest company The Severn Project, these leaves are always hand-picked and as fresh as possible. Great quality, great taste – it’s no wonder they’re one of our top selling products of 2015

Top fresh-range fruit:

  1. Strawberries
  2. Raspberries

During the warmer season, we source local strawberries and raspberries from Over Farm in Gloucestershire. A family-run business, they farm and sell purely seasonal produce, grown to provide the best and tastiest possible results. Look out for strawberries from April – September, and raspberries in June and July.

     3. Organic Mixed Cooking Apples

Grown by Castle Farm Organic Produce in Bath, who are firm believers that nothing compares to the taste and goodness of organically grown fruit and vegetables. Everything, including their apples, is hand-grown, nurtured and picked from the farm with no bought-in wholesale produce.

  1. Beef Mince
  2. Free Range Chicken Thighs

Both of the above are supplied to us by Blagdon Butchers in Somerset. They’re a traditional butchers selling quality, local, and high welfare meats. The grass fed beef and chickens come from local farms, including their own, so your meat is guaranteed fresh and full of flavour.

      3. Organic Chicken Thighs

Sourced from The Story Organic, run by BBC Food and Farming Awards’ Outstanding Farmer of the Year finalist and Soil Association Gold Award winner, Luke Hasell. A promotor of the mantra “Better for Animals, Better for Us”, all of The Story Organic’s chicken, beef, lamb and pork are Soil Association Certified. Their organic chicken is supplied to them by their friends at Lowerstock Breeders.  

Top fresh-range Eggs & Dairy products:

  1. Organic Free Range Eggs - Mixed  

Sourced from Overton Organic Eggs in Gloucestershire, these eggs are organic, free range and freshly laid. Their free-range hens enjoy welfare in accordance with Soil Association organic farming principles.

      2. Free range eggs - large

These free range eggs come from Castlemead Farm in Somerset. Castlemead are passionate about providing the highest welfare possible for their poultry – their chickens are looked after by a dedicated team and they are free to explore the fields surrounding their houses from morning to nightfall. 

      3. Organic Whole Milk

This creamy, farm-fresh milk is packed with protein, calcium, vitamins and minerals. It is sourced from Bruton Dairy in Somerset, who source milk from the herd at Godminster Organic Farm before bottling each of their unhomogenised, pasteurised milks by hand.

  1. Whole Small Line-Caught Mackerel
  2. Local Scallop in shell
  3. Superior Salmon Fillets

All of the above fish and seafood products are sourced sustainably through Samways Fish Merchants. Based in Dorset, they work with over 150 inshore boats that land on a daily basis. This means that, when you buy through fresh-range, your fish can be delivered from port to your plate in 24 hours.
